Cervical Smear test is a form of screening for cervical cancer. Designed to identify changes to the cells earlier so that treatment in turn can be initiated early.

At Loughview Health we understand the significance of the pressures on NHS services for this screening service and so we are delighted to be able to offer private smear tests.

 Smear tests cannot be taken if you are menstruating, have used a pessary to treat thrush or have had a recent smear in the last 3 months.

 Our Smear tests initially will screen for HPV, if HPV is detected/positive then cytology will be processed without charge.

 Please note if you wish to add cytology regardless of HPV status this can be done for an additional £85

Results will be received and processed within 8-10 days

Referrals if needed for colposcopy can be generated to both NHS and private depending on patient preference
